Enjoying the scenery by MarwanGreenCritter Enjoying the scenery by MarwanGreenCritter
I started working on this picture waaayyy back in December 2012. It started out as this sketch: img.photobucket.com/albums/v32… and then I immediately vectored it in Flash. I had the foreground done by the end of 2012.

Cut to February 2014 -- or more precisely, today -- and only then I started drawing the background. :nirvana: Damn, I forgot to finish this pic as soon as possible! :stupidme:

I drew this pic for two reasons: 1, how I use my tail to latch myself onto a tree branch to get the best view possible. :XD: And 2, as a practice on drawing more backgrounds.

The background is Mount Kinabalu, the tallest mountain in Malaysia, and the third tallest in Southeast Asia. Basically, this is based from my experience when my parents and I went to Kinabalu, Sabah, back in 2010. I get to witness Mount Kinabalu there. It was breathtaking! :wow: I tried to visualize how I felt there when drawing this pic.

Thanks. =) I'm lucky to visit such a place. Since I live in the Malay Peninsular half of Malaysia, I rarely get to visit and experience Sabah and Sarawak. :dead: Some of us Malaysians tend to forget that Sabah and Sarawak are part of Malaysia, too, which is just sad... Many unique wonders of Malaysia can be found there.

I wanted to try to practice drawing backgrounds again. Hence, this picture. =) I think I did a good job at it.

There's more than meets the eye my friend. I think you might wanna try going to Santubong for some beach and seafood here in Kuching. And the mountains/forests too. :meow:

Oooh wow, this came out very nicely, especially the cel shading and such! I got to see mountains myself, and for someone living in a flat part of the USA, seeing mountains again is still a breathtaking sight

Thanks! =) Yeah, mountains are always an incredible sight. :XD: It leaves you breathless. It's too bad that, due to my work, my parents and I have barely any time to visit such places these days.

Nice picture~ c:

It'd be cool to have a tail like that, but I'd be too scared that it couldn't hold up my weight to hang myself with it. cx (Even though I'm not really that heavy)

Thanks! =) Well, if you also have the ability to fly -- I can fly with my ears, too -- then it wouldn't be as scary. ^^;

You're welcome~ c: Well (speaking from the viewpoint of my fursona, of course) I can sprout a pair of wings from my back to fly, but despite not being as scary it's also not as interesting; I'm jealous of your uniqueness. :giggle:

Awww, he's so cute! :giggle: Must be great to have a long prehensile tail strong enough for functions like that! ;)
